Buy This Now!

This is how I know our society is completely down the crapper. This piggy bank is sold on a website targeted for young girls. They also sell a ridiculous amount of pink stuff and young teenager magazines such as Seventeen... All women of my generation or younger know that only less than 16 year olds read this...
But, you should buy IT, because it's 10% off! It would be silly to say no to a discount!

Btw, Yes, I'm cynical.  You don't need to tell me.

Absolutely Shameful: Wal-mart worker trampled to death

So... last Friday, around 8:30 AM, I went and participated in Black Friday. There were tons of people running around, and everyone had large bags stuffed with "stuff."

I stepped out with socks for $1.05, including tax. Big spender, right? Well, I'm a frugal Chinese and damn proud of it.

Frankly, even though I participated in the frenzy, slowly meandering (and probably pissing the hell out of everyone walking behind me) through the aisles... I really didn't understand why everyone was so happy to say goodbye to their money.

By the time I left the mall, the cash register lines stretched out across the store! It didn't strike me as odd or appalling until now. Now, that I've heard about the Wal-Mart death. Customers pushed down a Wal-Mart employee. The employee was trampled by hundreds of crazed customers for "several minutes" as other employees tried to reach him. When customers were told that they needed to leave the store because someone died, they refused and kept shopping.

INSANITY! And so revolting... Are people really that gross???

Doll Masterpieces

Never thought I'd ever be crazy about dolls... but I finally am when I'm no longer considered a child anymore...

It all began with Noel Cruz. His dolls are created by rubbing off the original paint on a doll and repainting by hand. Cruz prefers to copy celebrities. But, what makes his work unique is his amazing ability to make the dolls spitting images of the celebrity. He sells his creations on ebay. Currently, he is auctioning Orlando Bloom and Madonna as in Dick Tracy.

However, though, I was extremely impressed... I didn't give the dolls a second thought... that is until I bumped into Marina Bychkova's work...
The only reason why I didn't care for Cruz's work is that I'm not too fascinated by celebrities... However, I LOVE LOVE the ethereal fantasy dolls. Bychkova's dolls are so fairy tale like (I've always been obsessed with fairy tales, and their beauty far exceeds real human beauty... It's like a freakish exagerrated beauty... And, each one is COMPLETELY handmade.

Plus, she makes quite a few Asian dolls, which I love!

Not sure why this doll has male bits... Is it supposed to be one of the Asian boy girl beauties??
Here are my three favorites below:
I just love the range of movement these dolls have... You can put them in such elegant poses!
I'm sure these dolls cost more than just a pretty penny and prices are not displayed on her site.

Anyway, I think it's great to see dolls as artwork that can be considered as masterpieces!

Let's Talk about Race

Race has always been very vague. There are clear differences between Northern Europeans and Southern Europeans, Northern Asians and Southern Asians, Northern Africans and Southern Africans, etc, yet, most everybody describes everyone through a few basic colors. I always note South Asian vs North Asian... but that's just because I'm Asian.

It's interesting that Europeans have told me before that they find it surprising that Americans don't believe Hispanic people are white!

Anyway, the thing that got me thinking about all of this are these very funny pictures from Playmobil. Please don't take offense to me... Take it to the toy company, if you must.

Hispanic
White Family
Black Family.... Notice that the father's collar is popped.
Lol... Asian man with a camera...

They obviously forgot some races such as Native American, Middle Eastern...

Engagement!

Travis is my fiance!
On September 29th, Travis proposed to me! We were in Le Jardin Exotique on the side of a mountain overlooking Monaco. We had a trip in France and also spent half a day in Monaco.

The funny thing about all of this is that I knew about the engagement, way beforehand. Travis is really bad at keeping secrets like these. I knew that he was going to be doing it sometime during our trip abroad and was so afraid that I was going to be somewhat emotionless during the proposal as I've known about the plan for so long. I spent so many car rides to home or the office tearing up just thinking about the moment to be...
Since the surprise was gone and I was expecting it, I thought it wouldn't be as touching. But, wow, when he got down on his knee, I couldn't even stay standing up.  I just started bawling... like not one tear or two.. but tons... In fact, I heard his voice but couldn't recall anything that he was saying.
According to Travis, I didn't even say yes... I swear that I said, "of course." But, he claims all I did was say, "mm-hmm."

Smashing Protons!

Oh! I can't wait! Everybody pay attention to physorg tomorrow! FINALLY, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will be set in motion to accelerate sub-atomic particles to almost the speed of light and hopefully smash them together.
This was a HUGE project and it's finally going to be set in motion. A great leap for humankind!

I hope that the internet will give us the results soon. Who knows, we might find "God's Particle."

So much food... so little time.

Picture of food is taken from Khana Pina blog
The recipe for this is located on the blog also

Can you imagine a time when no one knew the taste of chocolate??? It's amazing what a person can be missing out. Food is one of my greatest enjoyments in life. God, I sound like a glutton!

Anyway, I just learned today that Indian-Chinese food is really popular in India. I didn't even know there was such a thing in India. However, I did once go to this little place that is called Hot Wok! in Atlanta. Well, I absolutely LOVE LOVE Indian food and Chinese food is very yummy too! I can't remember what I ordered at Hot Wok, but I remember it was good. I guess there is another place in Atlanta called Chinese Rosui.

Fusion food has always been amazing... I'll be looking for these recipes now and I'll have to give Chinese Rosui a try.

How to make you own homemade hair removal wax

This is taken from my other blog. I usually don't double post, but I think this post can apply to both my blogs and can be very helpful. Sugaring Hair Removal Recipe
This is a great recipe for taking the hair off of the legs, armpits and other areas. It's very cheap and VERY easy. This is the easiest recipe you're going to find on the web that works perfectly!

· 2 cups sugar

· 1/4 cup lemon or lime juice (vinegar may also work, although I haven't tested it)

· 1/4 cup water

1. Combine all ingredients and bring just to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring often. Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes until mixture has turned a rich amber color.

2. Lift the saucepan off the heat occasionally so that the bubbles will calm down and you can keep an eye on the color. It gives off a nice cooked lemon sort of aroma when it's finished.

3. Move off the heat and allow the mixture to partially cool in the pot until it begins to thicken (about 15 minutes).

4. Pour the mixture into an air-tight container and allow to cool fully before handling. There you go! You just made your own, at home, quick and easy hair removal potion! After using you can place the formula into your fridge.

Now, you can use it in either two ways. You can either use the wax warm or cold. I personally prefer to use this warm.

If you use it cold, please do not put it into the fridge beforehand. Once completely cooled, this sugaring paste can be applied directly onto the hair and pulled off. Just grab a big chunk out of the container (put a bit of muscle into it to get it out).

To use it warm, simply microwave for 30 seconds after it has been refrigerated completely. Spread a thin layer of wax in the direction of hair growth. Get large (could use 4 inch by 10 inch) strips of muslim strips (or some type of very lint free fabric cut into strips). Rub the strip onto the layer of wax. Than, grabbing the bottom (opposite of the direction of growth) of the strip, quickly pull upwards. Nad's and Nair's hair removal wax is used in the same way.

Teeth Tattoos

Picture from toothartist.

Why get a tattoo on your arm when you can be completely original by getting one on a tooth?

This is pretty crazy, but apparently, teeth can be tattooed also. Generally, the tooth that is being tattooed is a molar, which made me wonder how they go about applying the image. To my dismay, the way they put a tooth tattoo on is by adding a crown that already has the image. The image is done by an artist/technician. WAY less cool... It would be way more extreme if you literally got a tattoo on your real tooth!
However, if you change your mind, you can just grind of the image at the dentist office.

The above tattoos don't depict regular results. Personally, I think the crowns above are pretty darn artistic and represent the higher end of teeth tattooing. Cost can range from $75-$500.

Path of life

So... it's been just over two years since I graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree. It has also been a little over two years since I've held my first REAL job (outside of internships, high school server experiences).

I've recently found myself in a rut. My career life seems a little dull and boring and completely UNCHALLENGING. The same stuff over and over again...
The idea of going back to school to get a grad degree in engineering is not appealing either.

... that's when I thought... MAYBE... I should go to medical school...

Any thoughts?

Where is RON PAUL???

This is seriously strange. There is a huge candidate that is missing in our news: Ron Paul. Now LOTS of people know of him because he is indeed very promising. In spite of beating out Giuliani in some states, he is not being reported on television. Many bloggers have praised him but there is NO visibility of him in traditional media.

There are many distinguishing ideas that he has. He is a Republican against the war. He does not believe that the government knows how to spend our taxes better.

At any rate, his ideas and opinions are very level-headed, and he's got a lot of them.

Check him out:

I think that the government governs the news to a certain extent...
