Brian MacKinnon... some of you may know him. He was the 32 year old who posed as a 17 year old in order to pursue his dream of becoming a physician. He was found out while he was in medical school. Supposedly, he had been doing well also, but his deception was too much, and he was released.
I guess now he's living out of a car... wow... that sucks.
Sure, he's a liar... but he was driven to do so only because he wanted to make something out of himself. When someone has such passion, and dreams, how can that be looked down upon so much?

I couldn't agree more. I'm sure many people had a sneaking admiration for Brian. He was certainly an inspiration to me in my struggle to get a place at med. school.
It's sad that he was ridiculed and condemned by most of the press for trying to live his dream.
The ironic thing is that in the last five or six years the admissions policy for many UK medical schools has changed and there are now many over-30's and over-40's training to be doctors.
Brian would be 43 now and it would be great to think that he has quietly got himself a place on one of the new courses and is living the life he dreamed of.
